Caretech are experienced in all aspects of backflow prevention including installation, submission to council and annual inspections / maintenance.
A backflow prevention device prevents the reverse flow of grey (non-potable) water into the drinking (potable) water system.
Backflow prevention devices are commonly used if a property has any of the following:
- underground rainwater tanks that have mains water backup
- irrigation systems
- fire hydrants or hose reels
- commercial / industrial activity or machinery that connects to the mains water supply
- water outlets that are close to contaminants, grease traps or chemicals
In Queensland, the government plumbing legislation states that the backflow prevention device must be registered with council and tested annually by an endorsed backflow plumber.
When we install a backflow device we record its location and submit that information to council (Form 9). Council will then send an annual inspection reminder to the owner of the property.
